A mum has shared a 'genius' and cheap hack to avoid awful nappy smells in your home. It doesn't matter how many fragranced nappy sacks or bin bags you buy, sometimes the only way to get rid of an awful smell in a baby or toddler's nappy is to get it out of the house as soon as possible.
Nappy bins do exist, but often the smell hits you like a ton of bricks once the lid of the bin is open. Amanda, a mum of three babies in nappies, including a set of twins, has shared her "genius" way of avoiding nappy smells on TikTok, but some people are horrified by it.
The video, posted on Thursday, November 6, showed Amanda opening her sash window and dropping a nappy into a bin that was placed directly outside. She came up with the idea while she was pregnant with her third child and the smell was making her sick.

Amanda said: "You've heard of a diaper genie but have you heard of a diaper window? While pregnant with baby number three, l was so sick and changing the twins diapers made me immediately nauseous so l had to get them out of the house as fast as possible.
"I couldn't open the diaper pail without losing my lunch, insert the diaper window."
Amanda added that the idea started as a bucket outside, but her mother told her she should upgrade to a cheap bin.
She said: "Now with three in diapers the window is here to stay. Some people will be horrified at this, and I'm okay with that!"
Once the bin is full, Amanda tips all the nappies into a large bin bag and puts it in her main bin.
The idea proved controversial in the comments of her video, with some praising the idea, while others couldn't bare the thought of it.
One person said: "You know what, hell yeah."
Another added: "lol I kept my diaper trash can in the back patio right next to the sliding door. No stink in the house."
A third penned: "This is the definition of working smarter not harder"
A fourth said: "This isn't gross, its genius."
Others questioned if Amanda's method really works, especially in more rural areas.
One user said: "The raccoons around here would never allow this. They love dirty diapers."
Another said: "I’d just but the big garbage can outside the window no bags needed."
